Solstice Fireworks Downtown

Mark Your Calendar for Solstice Fireworks Downtown!

Join us on Saturday, December 16th at 8 PM for an exciting fireworks show, brought to you by Alyeska Pipeline and supported by our generous sponsors.

The fireworks will be launched from Shoreway Park, on the north side of the Chena River, right in the heart of downtown. There are plenty of parking and viewing options nearby, but please note that the south side of the river is the best location to watch the show. For safety reasons, viewing on top of the river ice is not permitted and the bridges will be closed to foot traffic during the show.

Visit The Downtown Association Fairbanks website to learn more about how they strive to create a vibrant and thriving center of business and community in downtown Fairbanks.

Reindeer Photos +

Hot Chocolate Station

Come join us downtown Saturday, December 16th from 5:30 - 7:30pm for professional photographs with live reindeer and an elf! The professional pictures will be posted to The Downtown Association's Facebook page for the public to retrieve.

While you’re downtown, come join us and experience the Winter Solstice Festival with a warm and cozy drink to sip on during the festivities thanks to Rylieh Bodyfelt and her team!

Don't forget to stick around for the Fireworks Spectacular that starts at 8:00pm!

Moose on the Loose

Sponsored by: Doyon Limited

Join FEDC and Mortimer the Moose for the annual Moose on the Loose, a self-guided scavenger hunt centered around your favorite local businesses!

On Saturday, December 16th, participating businesses place a hidden Mortimer somewhere in their business. Once you find Mortimer, you'll be rewarded with a stamp on your Moose on the Loose Passport. Each stamp puts you into a drawing for the prizes from the local businesses!

Join the fun on Saturday December 16th during the Winter Solstice Festival! The scavenger hunt runs all day and this year, we've decided to run Moose on the Loose a little differently! We now have five starting businesses you will go to pick up your passports from the Morris Thompson Cultural & Visitors Center, Ascension Rock Club, The Toy Quest, The Roaming Root Cellar or The Great Alaskan Bowl Company.

Questions or want to know more about Moose on the Loose? Email Killian at cfelt@investfairbanks.com for more information!
